The 65,000 Square Foot Bowman Gum Factory dates back to 1917, where it was constructed using reinforced concrete for the walls, roof and floors. A wing from the main building which housed the Company Laboratory and Warehouse was constructed utilizing reinforced concrete and brick. Remodeling has commenced to convert this 1917 Factory into a multi-tenant community

.: Notable Historic Uses of the Building :.

In 1917, the American Metal Company operated the building as a Metal Finishing Center, providing plating, lacquer and polishing services for a variety of metals and industries. In 1939, Gum Inc., later known as the Bowman Gum Company, purchased and operated the building as a Chewing Gum Factory. Bowman Gum produced a chewing gum product known as "Blony," a larger and more flavorful stick of gum and packaged it along with Baseball, Football and other trading cards. Bowman Gum produced some of the highest quality and most valuable cards and to this day, its cards are much sought after by collectors and sports card aficionados the world over.
